5th - 12th Grade Students
Wednesday Nights from 6:00-7:30 p.m.
Our Jr. and Sr. High ministry meets most Wednesday evenings. We strive to host a faith based and fun filled program designed just for students. Students can get dropped off at the office entrance (side doors around to the right of the main entrance) starting at 5:45 for some group games in the gym before transferring upstairs to the Loft for food, a lesson, and small group time. We also occasionally plan outside events, get togethers with other church youth groups, and big conference trips like CIY (Christ in Youth) and ICYC (Indiana Christian Youth Conference).
Aaron started working at NMCC in March of 2023. He has a passion for working with teens and pre-teens that stems from the encouragement that he received from his Youth Minister back in his hometown of Follansbee, WV.
Aaron was born and raised in the rolling hills of West Virginia, graduated from Johnson University in Tennessee, worked as a Youth Minister in North Carolina for 4 years, and as a Family Minister in Georgia for 7 years.
A few of Aaron's favorite things include his wife Natasha, daughter Harmony, Pokémon, being the center of attention, all things sugar, Marvel, and his corgi named Loki.

March 8: Ignite Teen Training (after 2nd service - 1:15 p.m.)
Ignite is hosting a teen training for any kids who are interested or already serving in the Ignite preschool ministry. This is a great time to onboard new teen volunteers and let them get a good idea of what it looks like and what the expectations are to be a teen serving in the preschool or nursery on Sunday mornings. Contact Aaron or Tasha if you have a teen that wants to join us for some training on the 8th.
March 15: Serve Now Expo (Volunteer recruitment after 1st and 2nd Service)
The church is recruiting volunteers for all ministry teems on Sunday, March 15th. If you would like to get plugged into serving at NMCC, we will have tables set up to talk about our ministry needs. Elevate is in need of people willing to food prep, lead small group discussions, and help with instructing our youth band. If you have a heart for investing in our middle and high school students I would love to get you involved in Elevate on Wednesday nights.
March 21: Skate Day (Free skate day at Madison Fun Factory 2-4 p.m.)
A Safe Place is throwing a free skate party at Madison Fun Factory on March 21. Aaron is inviting all kids interested to join in on skating that day from 2-4.
March 25: Cooking Class (during regular Elevate times 6-7:30)
We are holding a special cooking activity during Elevate on March 25. Kids should come ready to mix, measure, and bake as we make cookies as a part of a lesson on hospitality.
UPCOMING ELEVATE EVENTS
June 1-5: Madison Mission Week (Service Opportunity for Jr. & Sr. High)
Madison Mission Week is a mission experience where local youth from various church denominations come together to share their faith through service in Jefferson County. Each day is filled with experiences of service, friendship, and worship. Students will have the opportunity to work on a site to provide repairs to homes such as painting, landscaping, cleaning, and pressure washing. Kids will be dropped off at the High school to start each day at 8 a.m. and then picked back up at the high school at 9 p.m. The week ends with a lock-in at Madison Assemblies of God church Thursday night to Friday morning. The cost is $60 per student which can be given to Aaron (cash or check made out to NMCC). Click here to register a student or be an adult volunteer.
July 19-24: CIY Move (for students going into 9th grade - just finished 12th)
All high schoolers are invited to join us on this years CIY trip. We are heading back to Lee University in Tennessee this year. The cost is $400, but we don't want finances to be something that holds a student back from this amazing trip so reach out to me about the potential scholarship opportunities available. I've attached the CIY registration packet for students and parents to check out. You can also pick up a copy to outside my office to fill out and turn in. As soon as you know if you can attend this year turn in your permission slip so I can add you to the list.

What we're teaching this month: The Making Of
Good movies capture our imaginations and transport us to other worlds. As we watch our favorite movies with popcorn in hand, we may not realize all of the work, edits, and rewrites that went into making the cinematic masterpiece. The same is true of our faith, too. We might expect our relationship with God to look like a finished product, but really, our faith and relationship with God are still in the making. In this series from the Gospels and Epistles, we'll explore what can happen when we invest in spiritual formation. We'll see how spending time with God can make us more like Jesus and how when we face temptation, we can ask God for help. We'll also discover how with God, difficult moments can help our character grow and how we grow when we make things right with God.
